Unanswered Questions (2)

Does each individual book in this series have its own conclusion so that you can read one and be satisfied without having to read the whole series? This as opposed to the Firstborn series which is really more of one long saga with no satisfying conclusion to the first few books? I can live with series where early books have hints of a story to come as long as its own main story has a conclusion.
