A1. It works for narrative purposes--including that he'll eventually remember and assemble what he's temporarily forgotten. (Not a spoiler, that statement; if it weren't true, it would be bad structure to tell us readers more than the PoV character ever knows.)

A2. Some people, in reality and even more in fiction, do faint in such circumstances, esp. those who, like Simon, are connected to the Dream Roads ... or whatever you prefer to call the Other Side.(less)
Dr M Not really. The Dragonbone Chair, The Stone of Farewell and To Green Angel Tower are really all a single, continuous story, split into three volumes.

The main character is a teenage boy so he does notice the female form a few times but not in a lewd way. There are a couple of quick kisses and a couple scenes where sex is implied but are not detailed or are skipped over. One such scene could be seen as rape perhaps but also could be considered consensual. It is gently and non-explicitly written. I hope that helps! It's a classic of the fantasy genre and well-written. If you like longer epics then I highly recommend the series especially since Williams has started writing my books in the world again.(less)
