I would like to read this book, but my library system here in San Diego does not have in on-catalog, and I really hate to shell out the over $100 for it. If anyone owns a copy (or has it in their library) and would be willing to lend it to me to read, I promise I'll take excellent care of it and have it back to you within a month! If you're in the market for more relevant writing books, try out The Making of a Story by Alice LaPlante, Invisible Ink by Brian McDonald, or Writer's Digest's guide on Crafting Novels & Short Stories.(less)

The closest library to check out this book is 45 minutes away from me. There does not seem to be an ebook version. To purchase a copy of the book is @$250.... if this is such a good book, why isn't it available?

Yes, I was aware of the book's age, but it kept coming up as recommendation on so many lists, I assumed there must have been some core relevancy in it to pluck. :) I found a lot of useful tips, and yes, was able to discern the non-relevant and dated aspects. I'd not discourage anyone from reading it, but definitely encourage you to library-borrow it. The main library in L.A. has it, if your library shares?
