The first chapter is confusing, mostly because Nessa's parents are trying to hide the truth from her and to catch the reader's curiosity about what's going on. The story isn't hard to understand past that point and I thought it was a great read.(less)

Alyssa The author himself said it was meant to be an adult horror novel, but it turned into more of a teen thriller with scary, gory, and bloody aspects.
