Why, why the HELL did the book have that stupid 'warning' in the beginning? It's a really good read, but after that pretentious 'This book is so smart and gritty' it started off on a really bad note for me (and many others, as the reviews suggest) Just put up the contest and let the readers decide wether it's good or bad, smart or dumb. So why did the author feel the need to write that?

In fact, it is more akin to being repeatedly beaten over the head with a 2x4 than subtle and sophisticated. I am not so sure I agree with assertion that you can be good and absolutely evil as well.(less)

I would like to read this book but have concerns about some of the mature content that may be involved. I know it has drawn some comparisons to Game of Thrones, so does that mean there is gratuitous sexual content throughout or is it mostly just violent and grim in tone?
