That being said, I think that there are a few themes and nuances that if they were a touch older, it would serve to their benefit. In the sense that they might enjoy it that much more. Perhaps closer to 14? {And then it goes all the way up. I've just had a 97 year old read all three and she's reread them several times.} I would set the bar around 14, then suggest that you know your reader. (less)

I have been asked that question by many curious readers. I specifically never state her age...because I want the reader to have some room for their own assessment.

But, there are hints in the book that allow you to pin down her exact age. I will just say that when the story begins, she is older than seventeen, and younger than twenty.
