This author keeps commenting on my reviews that I would enjoy his book, and he keeps sending me links to the book on amazon. I block him and he opens another account. I have reported him to Goodreads. It has been going on for three days. Anyone else have this happen?

Now that I see how unhappy others are about his methods, I'll be sure not to ever do the same for any of my books. :)

His method worked on me, though. I bought his book and read it. (Yes, alas, I must confess... I am hopelessly weak when it comes to books...) Now that it's time to scribble a review for his book, he may not be all that glad that I read it.(less)

Hi! I am Michael Hughes and I like to blantenly self promote my awful book. I do this because no one will ever want to read this piece of trash I am embarassed to call my own. Even though Goodreads keeps deleting my accounts I continue to make more and harass everyone I can. I even comment on other authors reviews, making me the rudest person known to man. I suggest you pass on this pile of crap, right?

I got spammed by him and noticed he posted over 3000 comments in seven hours! For shame on you, Michael Hughes! I hope you are finally realising your self promotion is backfiring.?

My question would be, why are people so terribly upset about this guy suggesting they check out his book? He did the same thing to me, and instead of having a conniption fit I asked him if he might have any short stories he'd be interested in sharing in the literary journal I edit. The one he sent was phenomenal, reminiscent of James Cain or Jim Thomson. So I'm looking forward to reading his book now!
