If you remember that the main character Riley Paige and Marie(the one who initially survived the abduction by the serial killer Peterson) complained about pebbles littering their respective houses, and Riley noticed that when she caught her daughter April smoking pot.

We don't know much about Peterson, but maybe leaving behind pebbles was his M. O. I hope this helps. (less)

Why is the narrator of this book using a British accent if the story takes place in Virginia and the investigators are FBI and should be using American accents? This is the second time I've encountered the wrong accent being used in a psychological mystery and can't figure out why.

Alison G. I just finished this last night and I'm confessed about the same exact thing. I have a feeling it's the Peterson guy. But I guess we need to read the next book.
