Can anyone tell me please, if there are graphic sex scenes or an abundance of bad language in this book? Thanks!

Wendy I guess it depends on whether or not you consider the f-word bad language. I do but the other responders must not.

That's why Bill tells Eugene, "Don't ask me why, but I KNOW she wasn't pregnant."

Also, this explains the Rembrandt painting that Bill keeps from his grandfather, "The Anatomy Lesson..." which shows men dissecting a corpse, just what had happened to the girl.

He probably made Bill at least …moreMy feeling was that Grandfather did check to see post-mortem if she had really been pregnant and that she hadn't been. He probably made Bill at least watch, or could have made him do it himself (like one of his "learning by doing" exercises at the office). Eugene had to repeatedly browbeat Bill to get "the truth" out of him little by little, and who knows if he/we really had all of the truth by the end of the story?(less)
