I feel like I've missed something. Other than to create a silly way to show how "dedicated" to her work Brennan is, what possible reason was there for her to expose herself to the potential for horrible infection and/or injury by suiting up and crawling into the open septic tank? She found nothing that would not have been discovered by dipping out and rinsing off the contents. Seems awfully contrived to me.

Tracy Lydick I honestly don’t know why she crawled into the tank itself... just my thoughts....
