As it's YA it's supposed to be appropriate for 12+ and I would have read it at 12 but I think it's the kind of series where someone would have to decide for themselves as some parts are intense and might be judged more for a teen of say 15+. Could be the kind of thing you have to read for yourself first to decide whether someone younger should be given it.(less)
