The author carried out extensive research into transcripts from the trial, police and press reports and by talking to people still alive that were connected to the events at the time. What makes this book different is that she discovered information (from court documents I believe but I could be wrong), of the meeting between John Watt (who was trying to both prove his innocence of killing his wife and daughter and to ring out who had done it by going into Glasgow s underworld), and Peter Manuel and their subsequent pub crawl.(less)
