Down Among the Sticks & Bones is kind of a prequel to Every H…moreI'm pretty sure this is no longer relevant but in my opinion, it would be totally okay!! Down Among the Sticks & Bones is kind of a prequel to Every Heart a Doorway, but Beneath the Sugar Sky is set in the aftermath of the events in Every Heart a Doorway. So, in my opinion, it would be totally fine to consume them both. I've consumed all three books in like 3 days through audiobook so I think it would actually be possible to read them separately. I know it's unlikely but I hope this somehow helped. I also hope you enjoy them as much as I have.(less)
