I understand that Murder on the Quai is a prequel set earlier than the other books in the series. What confused me was that Aimee is 18-20 in 1989 (Murder on the Quai) and 34 in 1993 (Murder in the Marais, the first book in the series). So it appeared that she aged 14 years in 4 years or that the author reset her birth date from 1960 to about 1970. In my copy of Murder in the Marais, on the first page Aimee's age is stated as 34. I just looked at the same page in the current edition of the book, and the statement of her age has been redacted. So it appears that the author did reset her birth date in Murder on the Quai. That makes sense for any further books in the series because Aimee would have been nearing 40 in the last book (set in 1999), and now she has more time for additional adventures in her 30s. (less)
