Why was Joyce so vague in much of her book? It seemed that the book was more about her than Elvis. Her problems seemed to be front and center, when more real insight into Elvis. In-depth details about Elvis, his real life on a day to day basis instead of how often she missed work and worried about punishments that never materialized. This is still one of the best written of the Elvis books.
