If you're a big Star Wars buff it pretty much only uses the canon as a crutch so that they don't have to do a lot of worldbuilding, but it's honestly fun, if clumsy.

I think it would have been better marketed as a YA novel or a kid's book (if they had cut a few things), and it's not thrilling, but I genuinely enjoyed my time reading it, in a very chill and unchallenging way(less)

I probably wouldn't teach using The Crystal Star, The Truce at Bakura, or Planet of Twilight as they are often considered weaker Star Wars books (still enjoyable in their own rights, just not the most engaging or representative of the series). (less)
