I…moreI think she was just a device, a "McGuffin," if you will, to move the story along and show us that Daniel had visited that place with his son Niall. I found her more interesting, at that point in the story, than Daniel. I found almost everyone in the story more interesting than Daniel and Claudette. Those to navel-gazers bored me silly by the end.

Karen My reading of this is that Teresa and this man never had any sort of physical relationship and that they simply crossed paths a couple of times, each …moreMy reading of this is that Teresa and this man never had any sort of physical relationship and that they simply crossed paths a couple of times, each time realizing that there was some larger connection, sort of implying that they were "meant to be together" but the circumstances of life kept them apart. I would love to know if others read that differently - that they in fact did meet and have a real relationship of some sort? Because I hated my read on it - the idea that Teresa thought EVERY DAY about a man she literally had no real interaction with, and that their "connection" held across time - based solely on seeing each other briefly three or four times in their lives.
