Hi Emelie,

Thank you so much for the questions and for your kind words toward the cover. I am so happy to hear you like it. In no way is Soulless written in a dumb down way, the classification of New Adult mostly concerns the protagonist's age (19 and up) and the situations presented in the book (violence, sexual scenes, adult language). New Adult is a middle ground between adult and young adult. Where the topics are not as confronting as an adult read but can still be seen as heavy for young adult readers.

Nadia Richards, the protagonist in the story, does not go about her life feeling the need to prove herself. I can understand where you come from with these misleading 'girl acts tough but isn't really' types that authors like to write into their books. Nadia is a product of her environment, and her environment is riddled with violence, death and a disdain toward others. She is very much independent and her actions are seen as just as brutal as her male counterparts.

If you have any concerns regarding the writing style, there is a free preview that is available to check out on the link below the front cover’s picture. I may be a bit biased answering that question. :D I hope this helps clear up your concerns and if you have any other questions feel free to ask me anytime. Thank you again for your interest. (less)
