Lori Hit a nerve, much? Abuse comes in many forms... and love and salvation can be found in unlikely places. Not everything is black and white.

The guy is a child molester and I hate that people are glorifying this as a romance. I was not rooting for this couple.(less)

I wasn't offended by anything except how the children were basically neglected and had to fend for themselves. The story makes you think about what you think about the situation. But I would definitely call it a love story. While there is little romance in the gritty life that both Wavy and Kellen lived; I believe there was true love between them. It's not your average story, and most of us could not imagine life as it was lived by these people. I felt that it was impossible to judge these two by the same ruler we'd measure people whose lives were more mainstream. Their day to day life was based on trying to survive. Despite that, the two were utterly devoted to each other, and each more concerned about the safety of the other than themselves. To me, that's the definition of love. Wavy had been robbed of innocence long before she met Kellen. The two never had "actual" sex until she was of age. Some parts are hard to read, but the bottom line is, these two loved each other utterly. I hope that they'd have both lived happily ever after. I believe that despite all odds, they would have.
