Quick question as I must have missed it. Who is the letter to that Asia burns the first time she goes through the envelope in the safe ? It's the one that she claims that will incriminate JWB and she immediately tossed it into the fire and spread the ashes, but who was it intended for ?

Does this book even mention the fact Booth was a Confederate spy who used cryptography to communicate with Col. John S. Mosby as well as the head of the Confederate secret service in Canada? You can't get very far just analyzing his correspondence, which he knew could be monitored.

Katie Carrigan No I thought the book was too short on actual facts of history and far too long on imagined conversations.

What happened to "Junior Surralt". Did I miss something? The last thing I remember was that he was in Montreal at the time of the assignation and when his Mother was arrested, but what happened to him then.

(with facts thrown in) Oh, I suppose to ask a question -so how long did it take you to research to find "good facts?" Then how long did it take you to get the story line in your head? Or did you have that first?
