The heroine of the story is pretty sensible, but the story contains alcohol use, some sensuality (kissing and sleeping next to each other), teen pregnancy, drug references, a gun, a few swear words, and discussion of drunk driving, depression and bullying. It's one of the most refreshing contemporary YA novels I've read in terms of showing there are consequences for taking risks, but I will probably hold off giving this one to my girls until about age 14. BUT THEN: I'd love for them to read it!(less)
