How is the book so far?

At certain parts, I wondered if TWS was Keri Smith's idea to get people out of their box. I know it's almost impossible to find anything about TWS online, but is that because they're secretive or because they don't exist outside of the book? How can we know if it's real or fake? The disillusionment (that it might all be fake) made me put the book on pause, and I must know the answer before continuing!
