There are…moreGiven that there is a significant amount of swearing and sexually-motivated gruesome death, I would not recommend it to anyone under age 18. There are a few other things that I can't say without spoiling that may indicate that this should be read by an adult audience. If it were a movie, it would definitely be rated R.

As a further aside, I think this book will generally be more interesting and engaging to women. The protagonist is a woman who has to deal with gender-based struggles (both in 2015 and 1815), so it will probably resonate more with a female audience.(less)

This series is one of the best I've read in a long time! I ripped through the first four and am already sad that I only have 1 more to read! Any suggestions on similar books (where the writing is good, attention to detail is good, character development and mystery itself are great!) I can lose myself in?
