Are you asking if John Allison's original stories, drawn as well as written by him & collected as Year One, is better?

That's kinda difficult. It fills in the period before the present run starts, so you may want to read it. It's also the reason why we have Giant Days in it's current form.

I really like Allison's art and love his writing, but I think in many ways the collaboration clicks perfectly for this series and I love Lissa Trieman's and later Max Sarin's art, particularly their depictions of Daisy and Susan (and McGraw). I also really love how it gets more into Susan and Daisy's lives.

So, basically, read the Year One stories as well as this series, but they are not essential to enjoy Giant Days. (less)
