So many books that sell themselves as funny turn out to be just a bunch of forced jokes, no plot, and characters trying too hard to be quirky. Is that how this book is or is it genuinely funny?

Normally I dislike books when a male author is writing in the perspective of a teenage girl, especially since these books tend to have an inaccurate perspective of a girl's life. Is this one different?

I'm reading this book right now, I'm only on maybe the 20th page, but I feel like they force the 'good Christian girl' image waaaay too far. I mean, knee-socks? I didn't even know that was a Christian thing.
