I'm generally leary of buying short story collections, even from my favorite authors. Writing short stories and writing novels are two very different animals, and it's rare to find an author who's good at both. Straub appears to be one of those authors. Every story in the book isn't fabulous, but there are enough that are to make it worth your while.(less)
