Whenever i heard of abolishing prisons all i could think was those who are actually committing violent acts would be back in public. But the book explains that we need better programs to deal with issues that pretty much everyone who is in jail for both violent and non-violent offenses face. Also it helped me understand a more intersectional view as opposed to just struggles facing African Americans.(less)
