As an ESL-teacher I'm considering putting this book on my list for the students to read. However, the topic of suicide might be heavy for some of my sensitive 16-year-olds. Would you recommend the book? Is it hopeful and positive? Or might some students feel more inclined to try suicide?

Yes, the story deals with serious mental health issues and I definitely would not recommend to any readers without trigger warnings. That said, the focus is how the main character's suicide plan gets derailed with the help of a support network that includes individual and group therapy, medication and family/friends.
