Anyone else have the same thoughts re HM that I had a century ago? Would hat he had written more of the landscape, sense of place, and the eccentrics in those places, a la "The Oranges..". There's simply more there there than in the lustful scenes. One can revisit the non-erotic endlessly and discover something new each time. That said, his early work is worth a single good reading, for its would-be joie de vivre.
