[I thought I just posted this question, but if so, it vanished. Apologies if it appears eventually in duplicate.] I am canvassing opinions upon the correct pronunciation of the book's title. I always read it to myself with a soft g (as in sausages) but my daughter just picked it up and automatically assumed a hard g (as in pilgrim). Because of the subject matter, I expect she is right. Any advance on that?
