Why is the organization called the Telekinetic Research Center when the summary makes it seem that all the powers in this book stem from telepathy? Telekinesis is when you can move things with your mind, not read other people's minds.

Th…moreThe name of the organization is really just a front for a defunct non-government entity that used to occupy the facility that the current TRC uses. That organization investigated telekinesis as well as telepathy, where the government agency that currently uses the name is interested in all manner of psychic phenomena.

In addition, lines blur a bit as to the application of telepathy/telekinesis in the book and it's sequels. Essentially, the "special" folks in the book not only communicate telepathically, but also are able to make others do things for them.

Also, one last reason. The "special" people are almost always referred to as TK's, fitting to me because they mostly use their abilities to force others to do their bidding, but also because calling them TP's just isn't very aesthetically pleasing :-)
