Is it really necessary to read all of Barth's fiction before reading LETTERS? I have read The Sot-Weed Factor and Giles Goat-Boy. Should I find his other books (The Floating Opera, The End of the Road , Lost in the Funhouse and Chimera) before I read LETTERS, or can I with a good conscience dive into LETTERS? (Which I already have a copy of)
