Is this the abridged version? I hope not. Also, I read in a review that one should buy the hardcover version because it contains the author's notes. Does the paperback include them as well?

ea304gt No. The full Gulag is composed of 7 chapters spread across 3 tomes. This is the first tome, containing the first 2 chapters.

I'm confused by the sub-titles of this book. From what I've read in these comments, my paperback version (Books I & II) is an abridged version and that the full version has the author's comments, among other things. What is the full version? Is I, II, and III the full, unabridged version? If not, what is in Book III?
