Why do reviewers feel the need to write out what is already on the back of the book and on the promo page? And then put spoilers on as well. Just review the damn book!!

I try not to do that myself in my reviews. I thought this was a good story. If you've read one or two of C J Box, stories from the Joe Pickett series then why would you read any reviews anyway? I don't want to know anything about the book before I read it. I stopped watching the Joe Pickett series on Paramount+ because I didn't want to spoil the enjoyment of reading the books. I think the books are far better than the series but I do find that the changes they've made to the story in the TV series is interesting. Some of the nuisances have been changed to make the story more in line with what is considered "normal" in today's American society. For example, Marybeth in the TV series is a lawyer whereas she is a house wife in the books.(less)
