Ignore Pascal, of course learning a language to read in the original language would be ideal but he forgets people have time, energy, physical, emotional, mental, financial constraints in the world and especially in the U.S. where public social security is highly underdeveloped to compared other developed Western countries with similar cultural and socio-economic background. So while Pascal might have the time, motivation, energy, etc to learn a new language, he doesn't need to be an asshole about it on a platform where people are just trying to read and expand their horizons.
