They are dependent on Islam for their 'oppressed' constituency vote and their tendency to violence to encourage capitulation. They're also needed to run the government through the morbid symptoms of the interregnum between the dying of an old order and the birth of a new one, since Marxism itself is a notable failure in this regard. For Islam, they need the ideologically-blinded liberals for their alliance in placing Muslims in all levels of civic office, to smooth the way to Islam's hegemonic conquest of dar al-harb. (less)
