Does anyone know if the "White Forest" outside Kirovsk ever actually existed? Anything was possible during the Soviet era, of course, so maybe Marra just saying that it was there makes it so (wink). God, he can write!

Is "Empty Pasture in Afternoon" a real painting? I can't find an image of it online, and Pyotr Zakharov-Chechenets seems to have actually only painted portraits.
