This book has been lent to me by a friend and I was wondering if it is a good first R.A. Salvatore book? I see it is the 1st in it's own series but 11th and 59th in other series. Should I try and start with book 1 and work my way up to this book in the Legend of Drizzt?

Jeramy Freimuth Reading this one first would ruin the awesome potential it has when you know the history of the characters. Start with Homeland.
