I love how Adelina is the antagonist in her own story motivated by negativity, the last ten or so paragraphs in this book literally hurt to read they were so good.

I don't know if you've read these, but the Elemental trilogy by Sherry Thomas, Genuine Fraud by E. Lockhart, Sparrow by Mary Cecilia Jackson, and The Chosen Ones by Veronica Roth kind of all gave me the same darker vibe, although The Rose Society is defiantly darker then all of these books. I would also recommend the Forget Tomorrow trilogy by Pintip Dunn, its not really a 'dark' book but there are powerful parts that I think would be enjoyed especially if you liked The Rose Society.
