Even when something from a previous book is mentioned, it is done in such a way so that the reader is not lost or left wondering overmuch.
That being said, the way this series builds from the very beginning is what makes this such an exceptional series, one that I have no problem reading over and over!
I'm willing to bet that if you read any individual book within the series, you'll find yourself wanting to start from the very beginning, so save yourself some time and just start with Naked in Death :)(less)
