Has anyone else been so haunted by this book that they are actually troubled? I can't get it out of my mind. The love for his son mirrors our love for our children......God, how do you get past that

Did you find this novel disturbing, gruesome? I really like psychological thrillers but I don't want anything too... intense. Any advise? Should I read this?

If you find books about serial killers, especially those who kill children, disturbing, then don't read this book. There are a lot of potential triggers for people who have either experienced mental illness or have dealt with family members with mental illness. That said, it is a very suspenseful and fast-paced read.(less)
