Was I the only one really surprised to get through all 4 volumes of the history of the LOTRs, and not have any explanation of the change from Trotter to Strider? Did I miss it somewhere? Even if it wasn't changed until the very final transcript, surely a bit of attention to it wouldn't have gone amiss?

But I guess since it is merely a substitution of an alternative name for a character (the real name of course being Aragorn) Christopher just glossed over it. Usually he values fan service and giving people what they want to see but I guess he just unfortunately decided not to in this volume.(less)
