Does one have to watch Goldfinger to read this book?

Is Trigger Mortis suitable for children around age 10? I'm wondering if there's anything detailed between Bond and Pussy Galore!

Martin There are some realistic and gruesome scenes of war, which I would think would be too much for your average ten-year old.

I haven't read any James Bond novels, nor watched any James Bond movies. Do I need any previous knowledge to read this book or can it be my first James Bond Novel?

Just finished this book and found it interesting that it includes one actual use of the S-word, and one implied use of the F-word--but the latter is blocked out and replaced with a line. The book was commissioned by the Estate of Ian Fleming, so it made me curious: do they impose a ban on the use of the F-word in all the continuation Bond novels?
