The video game won the 2015 Kid's Choice award for most addictive video game. So... it's for kids. I doubt a 4 year old would get much out of it, but maybe 6.(less)

Minecraft is a really good sandbox game and you can have many adventures within it even if its a book minecraft is just different from all games for a reason and that reason would be that there is endless possibilities anything can happen if its in normal minecraft or if its in modded minecraft its a game full of wonders and things no one really understands but they dont really care because they are having to much fun making what ever adventure they want to have!
