Hi goodreaders! looking for some help: can anyone tell me what page the quotation ‘In cities, persons are shadows cast by places, and no generation lasts as long as a street’ is found on? & provide rough bibliographical info? I'd be so grateful - thank you! I read it a while ago, don't own it, and want to use the quote as an epigraph!

In the post-urban sprawls that are replacing cities, streets come and go as quickly as the people who pass through them. As cities are deconstructed into sites for traffic, the settled life they once contained is fading from memory."
