So, after reading the first 216 pages I've decided to stop reading and move on to a more engaging book. The whole time I kept trying to love the story and the characters, since it's supposedly a classic....but unfortunately it never happened. Maybe I'll try again some other time. Anyone else feel like this about it?

Styron's skill with literary imagery is quite poetic and needs to be savored and carefully appreciated. At least that's my opinion! His style reminds me of Carson McCullers.(less)
