This book was recommended to me as one of the goriest books there are. From what i see here, it doesn't seem like it. Can anyone either confirm or deny that claim?

But there's a sort of natural nobility to the theme of the book: it is in essence about a man who is trying to pass along all he knows about being a man to his son, whom he suspects has had it a bit too easy in life.

Really, it's a macho manifesto.(less)
