Probably a dumb question, but I can't find the answer online. Was the novel written first and then turned into a movie, or what the original movie made first and the novel written as a movie tie-in?

Ok this isn't a question about the book but about a similar book, Its a south American boys name for the "Title" with a mirror on the cover as well. Its about a boy whos actually the devil who blackmails a girl into having sex to set his seed for the anti-Christ. I've searched all over for this , even on here.
