These books look interesting. How descriptive is the language, sex, and gore?

I bought the book not knowing it was a series. Is it vital that I read the other two first or can it hold up by itself?

I personally felt that I didn't need to read the other previous boo…moreI got this and read it before I realized there were previous books in this series. I personally felt that I didn't need to read the other previous books in the series to understand the plot and storyline of this specific book. After you finish and want a fuller background to the characters --Beecher, Clemintine, Marschal, Nico, Tot, Mac, then backtrack the story. There are 2 previous books in the Cupler series and one standalone book about the Nico character as mentioned in answer in one of the other questions.(less)
