The book should promote abstinence. That should be the goal. Also promoting the gay lifestyle to young people is evil. Anal sex? Are you kidding me? Oral sex? Maybe this is normal to some, but to others this is a perversion and should never be taught to their children. Many healthy married couples don't partake in such deviant behavior so why is this pushed on their children?

I belive in sex only in marriage between a man and a woman. I believe sex talks belong between parent and child and not until after middle school and ready for high school. I do not expose my children to vulgarity, nudity and other forms of obscenity. Does this book promote healthy, normal and restraints until entering a healthy marriage?

If your goal is for your child to know nothing until high school, then this likely isn't for you, because sex education starts much earlier than that, by age appropriate learning including knowing the correct names for body parents, and understanding consent. I completely disagree with the comments that there is "overdone nudity and vulgarity" or that it is meant to teach them "nothing is wrong with anything". It is meant to teach them that sexuality is perfectly normal, which is it.(less)

Shelley Amazon states the reading age is 10-13.

I originally read this in the early 2000s. The current edition is from 2021. My understanding is that it has been updated from edition to edition by adding material on topics that may come up, such as LGBTQ+ and different methods of birth control, that were not in earlier editions. Would readers looking for sex education material for kids consider those updates to be sufficient?
